We want to ensure that holistic health care is readily accessible to everyone, no matter their income level, ethnic background or life situation. Therefore, Promise will do everything it can to remove any potential barriers people may face to receiving the care that they need and deserve.
Outreach Team Assistance
Promise's bilingual care coordinators, Jessica Mora and Fatima Arteaga assist patients with navigating the complex health-care environment.
They help people apply for and enroll in various assistance programs, including Medicaid, Medicare, Healthy and Well Kids in Iowa (hawk-i), Health Insurance Marketplace plans and Promise's sliding-fee scale, which discounts costs based on family income and size. They also connect patients to transportation resources and refer people to other community resources that can help them.
Anyone can make an appointment or walk in at any time during Promise's open hours to receive the outreach assistance. The outreach assistance is free.
Interpretation and Translation Services
All of our patients will receive care in their preferred language. We have many interpreters on staff to bridge the gap of language barriers for patients being seen by a provider or in need of information on the phone. All of our printed materials are available in multiple languages.
Our hope is that no individual seeking health care would be left without due to transportation. We realize the barrier that transportation can be. If you have concerns about how you will get to our health center, please call 712-722-1700. We will work with you to make arrangements for your transportation.
Promise Community Health Center can make free mammograms available to women who are between the ages of 40-65 and do not have insurance coverage for the screening, thanks to a grant from the Susan G. Komen Foundation. To learn more about Promise's Sister to Sister/Hermana a Hermana project, visit this page or call 712-722-1700.
